How your baby's growing:
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
I'm officially in my 2nd trimester...according to Babycenter. I kinda thought I entered it last week, but whatever. The headaches and nausea are still continuing to get better, although I do have days every now and again where it feels like I just wanna curl up in a ball and do nothing. I try to take naps, but I just wake myself up because I feel so nauseas. I'm pretty sure the sickness lasted till around week 15 or 16 with Isaac, so hopefully I have just one or two more weeks to deal with it!
I swear I'm feeling this baby move!! I know they say you can't feel anything till you're 17 or so weeks, but I know exactly what the first movements feel like, and I'm totally feeling them. I think I even felt the baby have the hiccups the other day...a little thump thump thimp over and over in the same area.
My next dr. appt. is May 4th (I'll be 16 weeks), and then we'll have the ultrasound at next appt....probably the beginning of June! I seriously can't wait!! =)

this whole 2nd trimester thing has me all confused....I have ALWAYS thought you are in your 2nd at 12 weeks...that is what my hospital says. Its ONLY been in this pregnancy that I have heard other people say otherwise! ha, how funny! you would think after 5 pregnancies I would have no questions! =)
With this being your 5th child, you should know whether or not you are feeling Jett/Journey! I love a week by week update... it makes me smile. Love you!
Sarah, of course I remember you. And I think I knew you were a WC reader. But I'll admit, I'm lax on reading the blogs of all my readers. =( So I haven't yet congratulated you on baby #5! You amaze me. It seems like just yesterday you were posting birth pics of baby #4 on Ringo...but that's life, huh? Moving faster and faster each day. Anyway, I'm rambling. =)
