Biker chicks

Not exactly the Harley kind, but they've got the attitude. And they're way cuter, if I do say so myself.

Because what kind of boy would he be without them?

Dirty fingernails would be what I'm referring to. It seems that no matter how much I wash the kid's hands or clip his nails, they always end up looking like he's been digging in mud all day.

Oh well, I guess I'd rather them be dirty because he's been having fun. Clean hands means you're not having enough fun, right?

And just because I love the way it turned out, a collage of Jett. :)
Oh, and a quick mention (for my records, mostly) that he tried squash for the first time today (made by mommy! Yay! :D) and he loved it!!!

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass." "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys."

5 Month Jett

~ He loves to roll over. I can't lay him anywhere without expecting him to roll over to his tummy the second I put him down. He knows how to roll from his belly to his back, he just constantly gets his arm stuck underneath him...and it makes him so mad!

~ He loves to scream just to hear his own voice!

~ He's still eating basically just avocados and bananas. He's had pears, but he didn't think too much of them.

~ He's lifting his head up more and more every day. I know it will be no time and he'll be crawling!

~ He's still the smiliest baby. I love it! I've never had a kid so smiley, and I could definitely get used to it! I hope it continues to be a part of his personality!

~ The swaddling blanket. What do I say about it, other than it's my life saver! He has a hard time going to sleep without it. Daddy isn't too thrilled with this. He's worried that Jett may carry this habit on in life and develop the need to sleep in a straight jacket. Honestly though, I am a little concerned that he's growing dependant on it, and I know we really need to break this cycle!

~ He continues to be a lover of the binky. We got him off the soothie (the kind he got at the hospital) and onto a more orthodontic one. He didn't mind the change...as long as he's got something to suck on, he's good.

~ He may end up having blue eyes, which thrills me! Chloe is the only other kid of mine that has them. His are still pretty blue, so I hope they don't change! Of course, brown eyes are cute too. :)

~ He has a little bit of a cold. again. He's got a runny nose (when it's not stuffy) and a little bit of a cough. I put vicks on the bottom of his feet and it seems to help the cough quite a bit!

I honestly don't know how God does it. How did He know that this tiny little man is the exact one I would have picked if I had my choice of all the babies in the world?!?! I love him more and more every day! He has completed our family in the most perfectly wonderful way.

Random-ish

First. ohh my. The video I posted on you.tube of Isaac's birth has reached over 130,000 views! Seriously?! Why? Has it crossed the line from being kinda cool to very creepy? I'm not real sure, but I plan on keeping it public. I know there are women out there who have never given birth and are looking for videos to watch that can give them a little taste of what it's gonna be like.

I wanted to mention a blog that I've found. Once I started reading this woman's words, I couldn't stop. Her name is Kelle Hampton and she's a wife, mother, writer, and of course a photographer (my cup of tea, for sure!). If you've never read her blog, I would recommend keeping a box of kleenex close by and finding a nice comfy chair to sit in while perusing it, because you're not gonna wanna stop reading. This is the post that I can almost guarantee you won't soon forget. It's pretty lengthy, but oh so worth the read!

We're taking the oldest 3 kids to Disney on Ice tomorrow morning! YaY! When I bought the tickets, somehow I managed to order the ones for the show at 10:30 in the morning. But we got pretty good seats...I think they're the 4th row back, and pretty close to the center!...chances are, it's because, who else goes to those things on a Friday morning?!? But Mike's boss gave him the day off, and my mom took the day off to come watch Isaac and Jett, so it will be a fun day! We're going an hour early to meet the princess! The girls both want to go back to school when it's over. Silly kids. :) I feel really bad for not taking Isaac, especially since Mickey Mouse is his most favorite person (thing, animal, character?) in the world! But the show is centered around Cars, Lion King, Little Mermaid, and Tinkerbell and all her little fairy friends. :) So I'm not sure if he'd even sit through it.

So...being that this is a 3-day weekend, I'm in a pretty good mood! Lucky for Mike! :) Hope everyone else has a fabulous weekend! Don't forget to check out that blog I was talking about! You won't be disappointed!

I'll leave you with a picture of my Isaac from this past weekend. I could *honestly* just eat him up!

Spring, is that you?!

Oh my, have I been waiting for this...temperatures that reach all the way up to the 50's! Can you believe it? Spring is coming...I can smell it!

My kids have been dying to get outside, and while, yes, playing in the snow in the blistering cold can be fun (for some...not me), it tends to get a little old after 4 years of it! or is that 4 months?...it just seems like it's been winter FOREVER!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I HATE WINTER! What kind of sick person actually likes being frost bit, likes the gray, depressing sky, likes the feeling of 2,000 knives stabbing you when you step out into below freezing temperatures, likes the sun to go down at like, what...4:30pm?? I mean, come on, what kind of sicko is that?

Oh yeah...that's my husband. I don't understand it, but to each his own, right?

We were able to take the kids to the zoo this past weekend, and they were so happy to be outside. I don't think they even cared where we were...just that we were outside. In fact, I think Sunday may have been the first time that Jett has ever felt the sunlight on his face. He's not a fan. yet. I'll change that. believe you me.

So here's the pictures of the zoo. If you're a friend on facebook, you've already seen these. But if you want to look at them again, that's fine with me. if not, that's fine too. either way. :)

The girls on the carousel. Laney insisted on wearing these giraffe sunglasses she won at some school function they had.

Isaac on the train

This may be the only reason Elijah likes the zoo. I'm not even sure he's aware there are animals there.

And just like the sun, Jett's not a fan of the trains either.

Isaac checkin' out the ladies while waiting for the tram.

I LOVE the lions!!! (and the monkeys, but we didn't see any. I guess I'll just have to settle for the ones we have at home)

I turned around as we were about to pull out of our parking space, and this is how Isaac was. He was worn out! I had joked with Mike right before we left the zoo that Isaac would be asleep before we got out of the parking lot. He did me one even better! :)

Hopefully Spring stays around, because we LOVE us some sun around here!!!
