Elijah's funny, yo

Well, if that title didn't draw you in, I don't know what else will.

First, a confession.*  I watch Roseanne.  and by watch, I mean I've seen every.single.freaking.episode 8,000 times.  Mike could probably recite each episode word for word.  So, okay, I know it's probably not the healthiest (okay, not probably, just not) show out there, and it's lame and not kid-friendly, and blah blah blah.  whatever.  it's funny.
So I was watching an episode the other day.  Let me set the scene:
Roseanne, Dan (her hubby) and the kids were sitting in the kitchen in the dark, because they didn't have money to pay their electric bill.  Jackie (Roseanne's sister) comes in and doesn't notice their power is out and is just talking away and making herself breakfast.  After a few minutes of not paying any attention to what she's doing and just going about like nothing's wrong, it finally hits Jackie that they have no electricity and Roseanne says "Well, we don't have any power, but now we know the speed of stupid."
hahaha. funny, right?
Anyway, so Elijah was in the room when that part was on**, and he thought it was funny.  So a few days later, we're sitting in the living room talking about fast cars or something along those lines, and we're laughing about something and out of the blue, Elijah says "Well, we don't know the opposite of stupid, but we know the opposite of speed."
???  =)
I dunno, maybe you had to be there.
The kid is hilarious.  His teacher agrees.  We had parent/teacher conferences this past week,*** and his teacher went on and on about how he's constantly making her laugh.

*that probably wasn't a confession.  I'm sure I've mentioned my love for Roseanne and the Golden Girls at least once here.  hmmm.

**I actually do monitor what he watches.  No, really.  Like I said, I know every episode of Roseanne and what happens on each one, so I know if something is coming that isn't appropriate for someone under the age of 7.  and I don't watch it all that much.  Seriously.

***My kids are rockstars.  I have never received a bad report at any P/T conference.  Pretty much all I hear is "If I had a class full of Laneys/Chloes/Elijahs, my world would be much easier."
And if that wasn't braggalicious enough, Laney's teacher handed us her big 1st quarter math test, and showed us her 100% A+ grade, while saying "The child got a 100%.  No one gets 100% on this test."  By the way, Laney didn't inherit this gift from me.  If you couldn't already tell, what with all the Roseanne watching and what not.

Project: Baby Stats...check!

I've actually had this project done for a while...it was getting around to taking pictures of it that took me so long.

I couldn't find the kind of frames that I really wanted for this, so I settled with using 2 separate frames.  I still think it looks cute.
On to the next pinterest project...

Baby names...for the baby we're NOT having!

I loved naming my babies.  Uh, I mean, we loved naming our babies.  That is, Mike and I.  Or Mike loved okaying the names I chose?  or something.
Anyway, I love baby names, and I'm always thinking of what I would name another baby if we somehow got pregnant.
I ask Mike for his input on the subject, thinking he'll come up with names I've never thought of and he just looks at me and shakes his head.  He knows I'm hopeless.  I just can't help myself, though.  The poor guy has to deal with ridiculousness on a daily basis.  He loves me anyway.
So as of now, my favorite boy name is Cash and my girl name is Sailor.
Just thought you might like to know.
Or maybe not, but there it is.

ps. It's okay to feel sorry for Mike.  I do.

Pinterest = My creativity

I have a hard time being creative.  I always have.  I can't just look at 3 completely separate items that have nothing to do with each other and think Oh I could totally make something out of these things that will completely change my life...unlike some ridiculously creative people, who shall remain nameless.   But pinterest.  Oh pinterest, how I love you.

I've always wanted to do something with my kiddos newborn pictures and their stats, but didn't really know how to go about it.  I've thought about putting shadow boxes together with hospital bracelets and homecoming outfits and pictures, but really?   No.  Too much work just finding all those things.  You know the "safe place" we put things when we never want to part with them?  Yeah, I'd love to find mine.

So I came across this sweet stats poster and went to work making one for each of the kids.  Here's how they came out:

I would really love to find a frame with 2 openings...an 8x10 for the stats and a 4x6 or 5x7 underneath for their baby picture.  If not, I'll just put the picture in a separate frame.  I think I'm going to hang them in our hallway.  I really love how they turned out!
