Duck Duck....Duck

We've got ducks.
As in, we've got 3 real baby ducklings.
Living in our home.  In a plastic tub.

They are the cutest things ever.  Seriously.
How it happened:
I logged onto facebook recently and saw some friend's pictures of the sweet little ducklings she had just adopted.  I accidentally let my kids see the pictures too, and it was all over.  We knew we had to have these precious little things in our house.

But not before I researched how to take care of them.  I'm not that crazy.  I found that it didn't take all that much to care for them, so we decided that we would try this duckling thing out.

Off to the farming supply store we went, and picked out the 3 duckings we wanted, along with food and other essentials we needed to properly care for them.

We got home, found a plastic tote to put them in, and voila - we're the proud owners of 3 little ducks. :)

{aren't they sweet?!?!}

{This one is Percival, or Percy for short}

{This one is Flo - she's the girl..or so we've decided}
Which brings me to - how does one know if a duck is a boy or a girl?  I didn't think to ask the guy that sold them to us.

{and this one is Gordon}

We plan on releasing them to our local lake when they're big enough.

Oh, and if someone had told me about how much they poop, I may have passed on this opportunity.  I thought that maybe the girls I would have to change the box every other day or so.  No.  Every day.  I have to change the box out every day.  It gets gross pretty much after one hour

Are we completely insane?
Don't answer that, by the way.

Funny kid

I just had to write this down before I forgot about it...

Elijah just walked up to me with a receipt in hand and asked me what it said.  I asked him to tell me what he thought it said.  This was his response:

"Mommy, you can give me lots of cars for Christmas.  John 8:36."

Ummm...not quite, sweetheart.
